PIRATE is an insecticide that acts by contact and ingestion. It also has repellent properties against pests. It rapidly penetrates the insect's cuticle, disrupting nerve impulse conduction by delaying the closure of sodium channels in the axon membrane of the insect's nervous system. This causes repetitive nerve impulses, loss of muscle control, incoordination, and, as a visible result, a rapid knockdown effect on the pest insect.
